Role: Credit card Reconciliation Officer
Client : Airlines & Aviation
Location: Abu Dhabi
Contract until : 31st March 2025
Job Overview
As a Credit Card Reconciliation Officer , you will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our credit card transaction records. Reporting to the Manager of Payment Solutions, you will be responsible for reconciling credit card transactions, identifying discrepancies, and assisting in the resolution of any issues to ensure financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
  • Credit Card Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of credit card transactions by comparing transaction records with bank statements, merchant accounts, and internal records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Transaction Verification: Review and verify credit card transaction data, including sales, refunds, chargebacks, and adjustments, to identify discrepancies, errors, or anomalies.
  • Discrepancy Investigation: Investigate and resolve discrepancies in credit card transactions, working closely with finance, accounting, and payment processing teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Assist in conducting bank reconciliations for credit card merchant accounts, reconciling balances, investigating variances, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reconciliation reports, variance analyses, and aging reports to track outstanding transactions, monitor reconciliation status, and identify trends or issues requiring attention.
  • Process Support: Provide support for credit card reconciliation processes, including data entry, recordkeeping, and documentation, to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, IT, customer service, and external vendors, to address reconciliation-related issues, resolve disputes, and optimize reconciliation processes and systems.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements governing credit card transactions, data security, and financial reporting.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in credit card reconciliation processes, best practices, and system tools.
  • Audit Support: Assist internal and external auditors in conducting audits of credit card transactions, providing documentation, explanations, and support as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field. Relevant prior experience in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in reconciling transaction data, balancing accounts, and preparing reconciliation reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting purposes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
