We are currently recruiting for our prestigious client in Abu Dhabi. 
Job Title: Manager, Landscape Architecture
Department: Development Design Department

Organizational Context: The Manager, Landscape Architecture will directly report to the Associate Director, Technical Management and work closely with various internal teams, including Development, Ideation, Commercial, Asset Management, Delivery, and Digital & Technology departments. This role also involves collaboration with external stakeholders such as clients, business partners, operators, consultants, contractors, vendors, and local authorities.

Job Objective:

1. Manage all aspects of project design related to Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning across all design stages, ensuring project goals are met, and milestones are achieved.
2. Oversee and manage Design Consultants and internal cross-functional teams.
3. Ensure the scope of services is fully covered by design consultants, aligning with the project brief, development vision, and budget.
4. Review, assess, and provide technical approval for designs, ensuring adherence to project brief, budget, technical and statutory compliance, constructability, and operability.
5. Chair design meetings related to Landscape and Urban Planning, offering continuous input to optimize designs.
6. Lead the procurement process for design-related aspects of vendor and contractor engagements, ensuring full technical coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Development and Ideation teams to define project briefs, ensuring alignment with the development vision and budget.
• Manage interactions with Lead Design Consultants (LDC), sub-consultants, and any appointed Design Specialist Consultants, ensuring adherence to project briefs, timelines, and budgets.
• Lead the Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning design process, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and coordination.
• Assess potential cost, schedule, and technical impacts of design changes, coordinating to resolve conflicts or overlaps in design activities.
• Ensure designs meet high standards of performance, sustainability, and long-term operational functionality.
• Provide leadership in the design review process, ensuring compliance with standards, technical requirements, and constructability.
• Champion QA/QC processes, ensure digitization strategies are implemented, and manage design review comments.
• Chair design-related meetings and workshops, ensuring alignment with all stakeholders.
• Oversee value engineering opportunities and technical assessments during procurement.
• Manage landscape architecture-related RFIs, design clarifications, and tender addendums.
• Stay informed on industry trends, developing design guidelines and best practices for design consultants.

Job Specifications:

  Academic Qualifications:
  Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related subject, or an equivalent post-graduate qualification.
  Registered architect with an internationally recognized institution (advantageous).

  Experience:
  Minimum of 8 years of post-qualified experience in related fields.
  Strong understanding of local and international codes and regulations, UAE authority approval processes, and design management.
  Experience in implementing digital strategies within design processes.
