Operational Risk Management
- Operational Risk Management.
- Engage with risk owners and OR champions to promote risk management practices and culture across their respective areas.
- To assist with the maintenance of the risk register for all departments.
- Enable the FLOD to perform RCSA.
- Perform Qualitative Risk Assessment for various scenarios conducted to provide understanding of potential expected Losses.
- Establishment of Key Risk Indicators to monitor movement in Risk Exposure over a period.
- Conduct control assurance program to assess whether controls are designed and operating efficiently to maintain risk exposures within acceptable levels.
- To ensure timely annual review of all risk policies in line with the agreed timetable. Risk reporting.
- Support the Operational Risk Manager in the reporting of operational risk to the relevant committees.
- To assist in the recording, monitoring, and investigation of risk events / incidents.
- To collate KRI, KPI metrics for quarterly risk reports.
- To support operational risk analysis in line with the Operational Risk Framework e.g., RCSA reviews, quarterly Control Testing & Risk Assessment reviews, annual risk register reviews.
- Business Continuity & Incident Management
- Coordination with Stakeholders on Business Continuity and Incident Management activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop / maintain the BIA & Business continuity plan, ensuring that it is up to date and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify critical business functions and processes within the department and ensure back-up and succession plans for staffs are available for each activity and prioritize them for continuity planning.
- Coordinate the testing and exercise of the business continuity plan to ensure its effectiveness in the event of an emergency or disaster.
- Ensure that all employees are trained in the business continuity plan and their roles and responsibilities in the event of a disaster.
- Monitor and review the department’s overall readiness and response capabilities to ensure that they meet the department 's business continuity objectives.
- Maintain documentation and records related to the business continuity plan, including incident reports, test results, lessons learned for future improvements and periodic testing of contingency plans.
- Other OR review activities:
- Provide process guidance and support for Central Bank and other Bank related Projects.
- Address Vendor related Meetings and provide feedback from Risk perspective.
- Review of CRM requests provide feedback to IT/Business units.
- Review of process/procedures/product documents, BRD, UAT/Implementation of any new system from risk standpoint and ensure that the changeover is smooth and error free.
- Review new business requirement of users in Operational Units and Branches to ensure process related completeness
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CBCP, MBCI, CISM, CORP) is preferred.
- At least 5 years’ experience in BCM / ORM
- Previous experience of working in a local bank in the UAE or banks in other geographies
- Experience in RCSA and Control Testing process.
- Experience in KRI, KPI, KCI
- Business continuity management experience
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze large amounts of information.
- Excellent communications (oral and written), interpersonal / business partnering, and organizational skills.
- Project Management skills will have advantage.
- Proficient with MS applications
- Enjoys and gets energized by complex problem solving and ability to push the
- innovation on solutions.
- Excellent leadership skills and enjoys teaching / mentoring others.
